Effortless pieces for a coastal-inspired wardrobe

The newest collection from Jenni Kayne offers so many timeless, east-coast-inspired pieces for an elegant summer wardrobe, and everything I’m seeing has me dreaming of a long trip to Maine. 💭Here are all of my highlights, and some styling notes for each piece:

Cove Dress, $295

Starting off strong with this 100% cotton, lined dress: this is a piece I’d throw on any day of the week when nothing else is really speaking to me— usually on a very warm day when even shorts feel like too much. With a relaxed fit and perfectly placed pockets, this would work as a coverup for the beach paired with leather sandals, dressed down with Birks for errand running, or paired with ballet flats on a vacation night out.

Mini Raffia Tote, $95

This adorable little bag would make a lovely finishing touch to a beachy evening look. I’d pair it with the Rhode Dress and the black leather sandals featured a few scrolls down.

Classic Mockneck Pullover, $325

I’m a huge proponent of a summer sweater— it’s cold at night, often cold at the beach, and very cold at the beach at night. I love this sweater styled as is with some slouchy white shorts, and it would also be great with a slip dress or some striped trousers and kitten heels. This sweater is gorgeous with such beautiful construction and is a piece that could easily last you a lifetime.

Pleated Short, $255

A long, pleated short paired with a simple white tank top and a pair of loafers will always be one of my favorite summer looks. These shorts were made from textural raw silk for a casual yet elevated air.

Leather Miller Heeled Slide, $425

The classic simplicity and a touch of 90s nostalgia make these low-profile slides essential in any rotation. Made in Portugal, these square-heel and square-toe kitten heels will elevate any casual look.

Day Bag, $295 + Linen Bucket Hat, $165

Elevate your farmer’s market trips with this oversized and perfectly slouchy, fits-everything bag. Take the whole look to the coast and pair it with the linen bucket hat. Both of these pieces would pair so well with black swimwear and black leather sandals, or a flowy white top and shorts.

Parker Long Short by AGOLDE, $138

This pair of vintage-inspired shorts are some of the best I’ve seen, and they’d make the perfect companion to any of the breezy summer pieces featured here.

Raffia Crossbody, $145

This textured bag is perfectly packable and an ideal beach day companion: large enough to bring a book, sunglasses, a film camera, a foldable beach hat, some sunscreen, headphones, and so forth.

Rhode Dress, $325

With a structured bust and floaty skirt, the Rhode Dress is flattering, formal, and approachable all at once. Pair with a chunky sweater for cooler nights, and virtually any shoe— New Balances, dainty kitten heels, chunky sandals, tall boots...

Hope you found a few new favorites— all of these options will blend so seamlessly into a summer wardrobe and offer you an endless number of classic outfit combinations.
