35mm Photos from the last six months

Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve yapped about film cameras. My everyday point-and-shoot has changed, so I wanted to share a little journal’s worth of photos I’ve shot on my Olympus Mju over the last six months. I thought this might be helpful if you’re in the market for a new camera, or if you want to compare these photos to photos from other film cameras you might be considering.

The camera I got has a bit of a lens flare, and there wasn’t much I could do about it a month later after I got my first roll back. It only appears in the top corners from time to time, so it doesn’t bother me too much! Otherwise, the colors are incredibly vibrant, and each shot has so much detail.

I’ve found the camera to be extremely reliable, usually with just 1 photo out of a 36-shot roll of film out of focus. Both of our previous Contax cameras had endless issues focusing and firing the flash when it was remotely dim, and we’d usually end up with 10+ blurry/out of focus shots. Safe to say this has been a major upgrade in dependability for a fraction of the cost.

We’re using Portra about 90% of the time, and ColorPlus for more spur-of-the-moment shots like party photos.

At the end of the day, I think nearly every photo comes out of this camera looking quite dreamy. I love the sharp focus in the picture frame photo and the candelabra photos above, and I feel like the flash does an excellent job of illuminating an entire scene! Highly recommend if you’re looking for something compact and consistent. :-)
