A mixed bag of my most-loved: haircare, furniture, baked goods, clothes, picture frames & perfume
Hi! I hope you all have been having a lovely start to the last week of the month. It’s been a particularly rainy (and cozy) February here in LA, complete with lots of actual lounging by the fireplace (rare), dinners in with friends, and multiple days straight where I did not leave the house (honestly, yay). We’ve been putting a ton of effort in to making our place feel organized and homey since moving in October, so I’m happy to share some recent additions that have helped to tie the space together. I also have plenty of tried-and-true favorites I’ll mention any chance I get, along with some other recent discoveries that I think y’all should know about. Hope you enjoy!
Skincare & Haircare
I have pretty sensitive skin and like to stick to lightweight, gentle products: I’ve rarely ever strayed from this YTTP cleanser, but I’d heard so many good things about Dieux and decided to try when it was time for a restock. I’m a few weeks in to using Baptism each evening with no issues to report! On my way to try the rest of their line.
Re: the empty Invisible Oil: I cross-referenced some dates and discovered I got that bottle in May of 2024…I’ve used it nearly every day since, and finally ran out last week. I’d say it’s safe for all hair types since it’s so light—nice for general heat prep and taming flyaways once your hair’s styled.
This lip balm brings out your natural lip color, and is a stunning addition to my countertop: always welcome.
Lastly, I’ve been loyal to this air-dry cream since 2022 but needed a re-up, which just so happened to coincide with the launch of Crown Affair’s new air dry cream. Had to give it a shot since I adore their fragrance and so many of their other products! I have to say, I like it even more than my old favorite from JVN: you don’t have to use as much product to get the same result, and I find that it makes my hair even softer.
A few more favorites, including my most-repurchased body wash over the last 7 years or so: super hydrating and smells incredible.
Furniture & home Things
Loving the latest round of picture frames we’ve been hanging up: we were waiting for the perfect spot to put this Roland Garros lithograph for years—happy to report that it was well worth the wait! Equally well worth the wait was the addition of a storage bed frame in our room. We managed to go five years with a rouge Home Depot bed frame due to general indecision, so a bed that now flawlessly hides my half dozen storage bins is a massive win. Will share more on the bedroom soon!
Food & Drinks
An afternoon snack plate is everything and more to me, and I shared a few other combos here if you’re looking for ideas. The brownies shown above are the best I have ever made, bar none, much thanks to my sister-in-law for dehydrating and mailing her sourdough starter to me—so cute—so I could get back into baking since getting a stand-mixer for Christmas.
We’ve been making Palomas nonstop, often with pomelo juice, which is in peak season! A treat! You can use my friends and family code for 50% off if you want to give Field Trip a try: SAM50 :-)
Clothes, Shoes & Accessories
I’m looking forward to reaching for this basket bag in the spring and summer, but for now, I’ve been living in this silk/wool blend tee: it’s so warm, soft and pairs well with these cotton pants. The perfect wfh uniform, if you ask me.
I’ve been back on my ebay and TRR grinds lately and have found too many good things, cropped denim and green jacket included. I added some similar finds here, if you’re interested!
As always, I must use any opportunity possible to recommend my zip-up cardigan to you. I got this color in 2022, but I have a hunch they’ll restock it in a different color sometime soon. I got the same one for my husband in navy and imagine we’ll keep them for our entire lives! Speaking of him, after I was raving about this Jane Birkin-inspired top in pink, he got the baby blue version for me as a gift (thank u thoughtful king xo).
Perfume on rotation
Almost every perfume I own falls into one of two categories: toasted cardamom meets sandalwood, or fresh spring day after it rains. I cannot get enough of the scents above, with Matilda coming in on the ultra-refreshing side, Somewhere But Nowhere coming in heavy on the sandalwood, and de Santal Chai coming in delightfully in the middle of the other two.
If you’d like to add some whimsy to your day
We are absolutely obsessed with our hummingbird feeder. All day long the app notifies you when birds come by—it tells you about each species and lets you name them. 😭 And if you, too, have been missing Words with Friends for the better part of the last decade, I highly recommend tapping into the new CrossPlay app. (My camera roll is now almost entirely comprised of crossword screenshots and videos of hummingbirds).
One final recc
To close this post out, might I recommend these—dare I say chic—cleaning wipes. I keep a few of them around the house, tucked away in the corners of the bathrooms and in the kitchen. They blend in seamlessly and make it easy to clean counters here and there instead of waiting for a massive deep clean / letting the mess build up re: the fly lady method, lol. And if we’re talking about cleaning, I’ll mention this dish scrubber set which has genuinely improved my quality of life: distinct jobs for each brush and they never have to sit in the bottom of the sink, thank god. I’m also a massive fan of these natural cleaning supplies which smell very spa-like, and actually work well.
